About Magento

Magento started as an open-source platform and is now owned by Adobe. They have a free community and a paid-for enterprise version which is now called Adobe Commerce.

Over 60,000 e-commerce websites in the USA use Magento with large companies such as Coca-Cola, Ford, Burger King & Olympus among many famous brands using it.

Whilst Woo Commerce and Shopify have outgrown Magento in terms of online storefronts due to their simplicity to use many consumer brands and large SMEs continue to depend on Magento due to the amount of control,  features, and customization possible.

For these reasons Magento often isn’t suitable for smaller companies because it requires more support from developers with training in Magento to get the most out of its immense power.

There are more than 200,000 Magento developers worldwide but only about 6,000 are certified. Global Triangles Magento developers are all Adobe certified.

Magento is particularly strong in North America.

Magento 2 was released in 2015 but tens of thousands of websites still haven’t migrated from Magento 1, which is no longer supported and has many security risks.

Global Triangles has successfully migrated many websites from Magento 1 to Magento 2 and we have also helped many companies transition from Magento Community to Adobe Commerce, previously known as Magento Enterprise, which has become increasingly expensive since Magento was purchased by Adobe.

For existing Magento users we can help you to migrate to Magento 2, migrate from Adobe Commerce to Community or vice versa, review and improve your security or help you to redesign your website, add new functions, and build extensions.

If you’re considering moving your e-commerce to Magento or need assistance in choosing the best e-commerce platform for your needs contact us for a free consultation.

About Shopify

Shopify has seen rapid growth since 2018 and is now one of the most popular e-commerce platforms due to its ease of use and wide range of features.

Large brands such as Nestle, Pepsi, and Unilever use Shopify, and they claim that over 218 million people have bought something from a store built with Shopify. 62% of Shopify Plus accounts are in the USA and 9% in Canada meaning 71% of Shopify Plus accounts are in North America.

69% of orders are made on mobile, again emphasizing the importance to be mobile-friendly in the e-commerce space.   Indeed say that the number of Shopify developer job postings has increased by 50% in the past year but there are no clear numbers about how many Shopify developers are currently available around the world.

When searching for a Shopify developer to help you with your e-commerce website you should search for developers with experience in HTML, CSS , JavaScript, PHP and ideally previous experience working in e-commerce development.

Most small vendors can build and manage a Shopify store themselves or with occasional help from a freelance developer but for larger more complex projects it’s normally beneficial to work with an experienced e-commerce team such as ours.   We have many years experience in the e-commerce space developing with Magento, Shopify and Woo Commerce.

About WooCommerce

WooCommerce is an extremely popular e-commerce platform because of the ease of use on WordPress websites, the most popular platform used by small businesses.

93.7% of WordPress online stores used WooCommerce.

Like Magento and Shopify, WooCommerce is built with PHP & JavaScript.

Despite being a favorite for small businesses it still has some impressive brands that also depend on WooCommerce for their e-commerce needs including Weber & Airstream.   Global Triangles have helped clients to integrate WooCommerce with their WordPress websites.
